Well folks, I must have been tired. After my evening meal at my local I walked home and then promptly fell asleep when I arrived. I woke up close to midnight and had to do my first report of the two before midnight. That is now done.

At least for the next four days I have no work and as tomorrow is Friday I can stay in bed for the morning if I wanted to, but may just go to town for awhile.

Are you ever too old to learn something new?

How many coffee cups do you own (just a ballpark figure)?

Do you like French toast?

Today's wonderful words are -

aerophone

NOUN
music
a wind instrument.

An aerophone is a musical instrument that produces sound primarily by causing a body of air to vibrate, without the use of strings or membranes, and without the vibration of the instrument itself adding considerably to the sound.

kaleidophone

Noun

The kaleidophone is a "philosophical toy" that produces moving optical figures. There are several different versions of the kaleidophone, but in all cases at least one slender rod is fixed at one end and has a shiny bead fixed to the other end of the rod

An instrument, invented by Professor Charles Wheatstone (1802-1875), consisting of a light on a vibrating rod with a reflecting knob for exhibiting the effect of sound waves.

Kaleidophone on display at Palais de la Découverte in Paris.

It has been a lovely warm sunny day in which i did three hours of sunbathing and reading. I then popped into town to see Kate and then had lunch at my local. An Empire State burger that I collapsed and ate.

Extremely filling and delicious.

So, a weekend of relaxing ahead of me. What are your plans for the weekend?

In a few days time Autumn will officially be upon us in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring will embrace the Southern Hemisphere. That’s good news for some and not so much for others.

1. Do you have any special rituals to welcome the approaching season, such as cleaning or decorating?

2. Do you welcome the approaching season or despise?

3. What has been the high point from the preceding season?

4. What has been the low point from the preceding season?

5. What are you looking forward to in Autumn/Spring?
