Barwick has said that her music is influenced by her participation in the church choir while growing up in Louisiana. She composes with a machine to create electronic loops built around her vocalizing.

BBC Sounds

I had a thought - you should be able to listen to BBC music using the BBC app anywhere in the world. I totally recommend it and my recommendations are BBC Radio 6 and BBC Radio 3 night-time radio. The BBC Radio 3 programmes I recommend are Night Tracks, Late Junction, Unclassified ,Jazz A to Z,and Freeness.

Tuesday Thoughts

Despite not getting above zero C today we have had some sunshine. Sun is blaring as I write. Snow still compacted on the ground though and treachery to walk upon pavements and minor roads which have not been gritted!

The fact is I sold four items on eBay over the weekend and they needed to be posted. So I combined a post office visit with a booze run. I used a taxi door to door both ways. That was around £11 but rather that than slip up on some damn ice!!

That is why I HATE SNOW!!!!

As I mentioned to thespian15 the BBC Sounds app is free and it does not cost you anything to subscribe. Also because it is Aunty Beeb no adverts except their own promoted programs.

This week it is Vaughan Williams as Composer of the Week over at Radio 3. Also, Night Tracks is a wonderful adventurous immersive soundtrack for the night people. I use that to put me into a night-time reverie and I often stack these up back to back like a binge session.


At the moment I am listening to Glenn Gould playing J.S Bach's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra BWV1056. Then I might dig out some of my Bob Dylan CDs afterwards. Ta for now.

Maggie Nicols adorns the front cover of the mag. She has made a download album via Bandcamp which both myself and Ewart have. I made a CDR for him. Ain't I good!
