Don't Let That Horse Eat That Violin!

by Lawrence Ferlinghetti

Marc Chagall “The Equestrienne” 1931

Don’t let that horse
eat that violin

cried Chagall’s mother

But he
kept right on
painting

And became famous

And kept on painting
The Horse With Violin In Mouth

And when he finally finished it
he jumped up upon the horse
and rode away
waving the violin

And then with a low bow gave it
to the first naked nude he ran across

And there were no strings

It started sunny and warm with a mild 15C but it somewhat turned cloudy. It may just be a phase but it was warm enough to have a T-shirt on.

The package from my bro arrived. Another paperback book that I already have, an 80GB external hard disk drive unit, and some CDs - all classical. The CDR and Classic FM discs I will give to Mary at number 27 after I moved them to the hard drive,  and would look for other interpretations of these cello and violin concertos. I tend  to prefer his symphonies on the whole. The other two of Chopin's music on Hyperion I will keep.

I did find the Yoo Tube post from David Hurwitz on classical music labels quite fascinating and informative, and I recommend you guys check it out.

One of the recommendations Hurwitz suggested for the complete symphonies of Brahms of which he only composed four - being more of a miniaturist and chamber music composer - is this box set for under twenty quid from Amazon - Five CDs!

And yes, it is on my ever-expanding wants list.

I do have a wonderful 4CD Szymanowski piano music set arriving as well as a 4CD set of Pierre Boulez's own music arriving as well, both under the tenner mark.

Time to listen to some Chopin.

Have you ever been to New Orleans or some other Carnival (such as Notting Hill, London or Brazil or Venice) experience?

Do you have any beads?

What was the last thing you ate?
