Peter Maxwell Davies - An Orkney Wedding (With Sunrise) (1984)
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Peter Maxwell Davies.
Peter Maxwell Davies is one of Britain’s most prestigious and prolific composers. Appointed as Master of the Queen’s Music between 2004 and 2014, Davies has composed over 300 pieces in all genres; many of them breaking barriers between contemporary classical and vernacular idioms. Most of these belong to stage and symphonic poem categories such as the three presented here. In An Orkney Wedding (with Sunrise), Maxwell Davies describes a traditional Scottish wedding which he attended and lasted until the next morning, witnessing a spectacular sunrise.
Sofia Gubaidulina - Fachwerk (2009)
Fachwerk, for bayan, percussion and string orchestra (2009).
Geir Draugsvoll, bayan
Anders Loguin, percussion
Trondheim Symphony Orchestra Strings conducted by Øyvind Gimse.
Nick Drake- River Man
Vashti Bunyan - Winter Is Blue
Current 93 - Bind Your Tortoise Mouth
Björk - Undo
Awesome track ...she always pushes the envelope -always experimenting with sound.
Matmos - Roses and Teeth for Ludwig Wittgenstein
ES (Sami Sänpäkkilä) - Les Fleurs Sont des Bonnes Auditrices
Es (Sami Sänpäkkilä) is the founder of the Finnish underground record label, Fonal Records. His music explains pretty much what most of Fonal Records' music is about: experimenting with sounds, bound together by free-folk ambient and occasional huge drones. Sami is a musician, film-maker and the head of Fonal Records.
Lau Nau - Juokse Sinä Humma
Paavoharju - Ursulan uni
Enjoy,
