Picked up some LPs at 50 pence each plus one at a £2. First off the bargain of the day, period, has to be "The Hanged Man" by Bullet (Contour 1975 LP) - this was a mid seventies ITV produced crime series, with music arranged by Alan Tew under the guise of Bullet. Wow ,its so damn funky and groovy in the place where jazz-funk-rock should kick - the LP kicks ass!! Has to be the best Contour LP so far. £2 well spent.

As Vinyl Vulture says "Composed by England's finest Alan Tew, this album was released by budget-label Contour Records in the UK in 1975 and now commands much attention from across the globe for it's moody funk and jazz/rock fusion. There are a good mixture of uptempo ("Hanged Man", "The Heist") and downtempo ("Road Runner", "The Peterman", "The Spic") tracks.

It was legally reissued on DC Recordings here in the UK, so as to save you hunting down the original."

The others are fine and straight forward exotica items which will go stallbound, except for a nice bossa nova based LP which will be kept.

Clocks went back an hour last night,so now the evenings will get darker quicker. Blah.

In Chichester yesterday picked up one LP for £1,from the label which gave us Harry Partch,The CRI label, known for its more avant-garde classical stuff in the States.
