A bright sunny morning was just the good omen I needed to do a trip down to New Romney for a visit. I woke up and left on the 8.30 am bus to Faversham , and caught the beastly 666 to Ashford. I just had a few minutes to get myself a McDonald's Sausage and Egg McMuffin and then caught the 11 bus down to New Romney via Lydd.

Lydd is a lonely town or village and has a small airport.

I bought a book and a small wooden bowl from the Red Cross chazzer. The book is a hefty reference tome , “The Reader's Companion To Twentieth Century Writers” edited by Peter Parker (Fourth Estate), and before you ask, not the Peter Parker as Spiderman in the Marvel comics and films.

I then took the bus back to Ashford and another visit ending up at a Wetherspoons to down a quaffable Titanic None Tenths Below (5.9 % ABV) before the journey home.

The external hard drive (an old Western Digital 640GB drive with power supply) is playing up ,and it sometimes looses the connection to the laptop. It would be disastrous if I was playing a track from that drive during a gig. It has been wheezing for ages , and compared to modern day equivalents, is a heavy beast that has had better days. I think it is about time to retire it altogether, and I have been surfing the net for a more slimmer USB powered drive. 320 GB is enough for me, all these 1TB or 2TB drives are just out of my league, as I would only use the drive to store music files, and a few films.

As I am going to Canterbury tomorrow I shall have a look at them in PC World or Comet, as you can obtain a decent 320 or even 500GB drive for £50.

My Big Bang Theory series 4 DVD should be here tomorrow or Wednesday as well.
