I rambled across this verdant and bucolic county, known as Kent, this morning to the hubbub of Sittingbourne, and the sleepy hamlet called Rainham, in search of bargains. In the former town it was more of a stint i had to do on this work programme crap.

My first port of call was Rainham with the top notch Sense charity shops and a splendid Bookmark second hand books emporium, plus that record shop i get the free records from.

Not such an interesting selection this time but from the seven slabs of vinyl i got my mits on was a Jim Croce Greatest Hits, an old Miriam Makeba LP and a Gladys Knight and the Pips LP. From Sense another curio of odd knowledge, a BBC hardback called “Balderdash & Piffle, English words and their curious origins” for a quid.

Today felt more like the halcyon days of yore, bright and sunny, and quite warm when the wind abated.

Also, my LP from the USA arrived in the post with funds from Ebay sales, the wonderful debut album by Triste Janero in a still sealed reissue. A very summery bossa nova drenched pop album from 1969 from a group based in Dallas,Texas. Definitely one to play at my next Brillo gig.
