It was raining hard this morning , and it was looking miserable out there, but with fortitude I decided to do the Ashford visit after all, since Margate can now be done tomorrow.
I first got into Faversham and had a pint of beer at The Leading Lighting. Well I thought as it was wet outside I might as well be wet inside.

So i had a pint of I Wantsum One Hop Amarillo Ale (4.3 % ABV).
Afterwards, i waited near the library for the 666 bus to Ashford.
It was still lashing down but i had some shelter near the library. Corn pipe at the ready.Bob Marley hat to keep my nut dry.
Arrived in Ashford and it had cleared. Stayed dry the rest of the day and the sun came out on my return.
In Ashford i walked through Park Mall and came across this shop.-

The notice said you can pick up three books for free.Just get them stamped and take them away!
So I got these -

An autobiography of George Best, the footballer, Gombrich's "Art And Illusion" plus "Sequence , The Inside Race For The Human Genome" - all for nowt !

Walking through the High Street i ventured on to the British Heart Foundation charity shop, which was my covert shop hit, and bought these goodies -

A paperback book that was turned into a TV drama i believe, and a couple of CDs - The Brand New Heavies "Brother Sister" (Acid Jazz) and Nitin Sawhney "Prophesy" (V2 Recordings).
I then had a pint of beer in the Elephant pub in Faversham -

In the end , despite the cold and the wet morning, it was a good day.
