Wow, listening to Radio 4's Food Program on craft beer from London to the States and around the world. Classic Porter styles, Old Stouts, dry hopped beers etc.

Are American beers looked down on over there?
Or would that just be beer snobs? :p

It may have been when Buds and Coors etc was all that was available, eg light lagers but recent years have seem craft beer from the States become popular, helped by the beer festivals that Wetherspoons put on. Also, some of our newer beer companies are using the American porter styles which the Americans found as old recipes in England. Also you get collaborations between them.No way is their any beer snobbery as their was , say, back in the eighties.

There are 50 beers in each of the Wetherspoons beer festivals, of which ten are foreign to us. I want to try the one from Canada - Driftwood Pale Ale, the Spanish Mateo & Bernae Fermin Red Ale, from Florida Cigar City Siren's Song Session IPA, and from New Zealand Yeastie Boys Tea Leaf IPA.
