In an earlier post, i said i had trouble with one customer on Discogs. It is still going on. He gave me negative feedback so i gave him negative feedback in return over a CD he wanted to buy, and which he thought that postage was included. it clearly states on the site it is not. Then he tries to dictate an offer price on an item that i did offer with the tag "make an offer" , which as a seller you do so, rather than a fixed priced.

He has sent me another email today -

"I made an offer and asked a question which you didn't answer. It even says
"make offer" on one of Discog's web pages.
Anyway your shipping charges are $7 more than the guy's in the Netherlands.
I saw that you lowered the total cost a bit but I wasn't sure if all the
art work would still be included. I have plenty of cd cases.
Try to be more rational the rest of your life. You won't regret it."

(I know, what cheek!)

so i replied thus -

"This is because the Dutch mail system is cheaper than the British , since i have a colleague in Breda ,so that is how i know. Secondly, i really do take offence at the insinuation of not being rational. I would not send out any CD with the artwork missing , and sir, philosophy was my major subject at university, so please do not talk to me about being rational in the rest of my life.It is that some people do make you feel like banging your head against a wall. I am finding this conversation a bit tiresome, and i really am fed up with having to deal with people who do find the Discogs site difficult. It is not. Each seller can choose whether they want "Make an Offer" on items they sell or not. I , as a rule, do not, unless i specify it in the listing. The site is not difficult, it is you sir.

I hope that this is the very last time i have to reply to you, and FYI , i have banned you from from trying to buy from me in "

Think i will crawl into a rock under a hole now. "Hey Dalek, can you exterminate this troublesome person".

Calm down Dave, get your Vaughan Williams CD's out, put on headphone, and chill out.

Not sure why brains leak out ears when it comes to online sales-more likely just scamming.

Hmmm...
I believe it was Ambrose Bierce who said
"Speak when you are angry, and it will be the best speech you'll ever regret."
Not that you'll regret your response in this instance,
but (at the risk of being rude myself) I'd suggest something along these lines:
Yes, sellers in the Netherlands do have the advantage of lower postal rates, which hardly seems fair. It is regrettable that you seem unhappy in your recent dealings with me. To safeguard you from any further regrets or unhappiness, insofar as I am able, you have been banned from attempting to purchase from me. I trust this brings the matter to a conclusion.

No, not rude at all, and thanks for the input. You said it much better than i did but it is done now and that chapter has gone.after 800 satisfied people i suppose, by dint of percentages, that i would get the difficult unsatisfied one at some stage.

I run an online shop and oh God people can be so stupid and argumentative. Before I opened, I was told by a friend who had an eBay shop, "Expect people to be as stupid as possible." People have been trained by places like Walmart to think everything should be dirt cheap. When you're running your own business, you realize how much time and energy goes into simply packing an item to mail, then getting it to the post office, and you have to charge for that plus your packing materials. Stuff like that.

I make handmade clothing and people freak out because it costs more than the stuff in the stores made by forced labor in Third-World sweatshops... Yes, it does. Please go shop at those places if this costs too much.

Absolutely! I have to package the item, use stiffeners if it is vinyl, Weigh it then post it. Post is not cheap either. People like Amazon can do it cheap because they buy and sell in bulk but i am just me - a sole trader, small fry, eeking out a living. And yes, sometimes the cost of posting is more than the item itself.

Thanks. I am cheered up to know that i am not the only one who suffers fools.

Yes, exactly.
I looked into selling on ebay,
but that fact stopped me.

People are so rude online.

Your reply made me laugh :)

And also msstacy13's.

Glad you have got that person out of your life. What a pity that you got negative feedback for something not your fault. A Dalek sure would have been handy!
