Tenderden and Headcorn Visit
May. 16th, 2014 09:18 pmThursday was a really good day. The weather was warm and sunny and i discovered a good few bargains from two mystery shops i did.
I first went over to Faversham to sell some books, and then via Maidstone traveled down to Tenderden to visit a Sue Ryder charity shop. Tenderden is a lovely market town and with camera in hand i took this picture.

I had a pint of ale in a local pub waiting for the bus to take me back up the road to Headcorn to do the other charity shop.
Best bargain of the day was this hardback book for £1.50 and a Niel Gaimon novel which was serialized on BBC Radio 4 a few months ago.

These two were from the Headcorn charity shop, as well as an autobiography by Jools Holland.
I also picked up the complete series of the first season of Spooks, a BBC drama based on our intelligence service , and two series of a US crime drama called Numbers, and a folk album from 1973 by The Fivepenny Piece "Makin' Tracks" .. This latter purchase was a bit speculative , thinking it might be worth a bit, but alas, it is not, but i have put it on Discogs for around three quid.

The day ended with a drink down the Paper Mill with Phil..
Tomorrow i have three mystery shops which includes a mobile phone shop (no purchase) ,a branch of Pret coffee shop and a branch of Costa Coffee shop. Hence i shall be cantering to Canterbury, marching to Maidstone and perambulating to Pembury.

Date: 2014-05-16 09:02 pm (UTC)I enjoyed the BBC Radio version of Neverwhere. I think Gaiman is sometimes a bit overhyped, though.

Date: 2014-05-17 02:38 pm (UTC)I love the pictures! They remind me of many of the small towns on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Even my own little town of Dedham, Mass. has some areas like that, with houses from the 1700's and 1800's!
