Following on from the last post some more bands and artist i had seen live whilst i resided in sunny Brighton.

At the Sussex University complex i saw Yo la Tengo live From the Summer Sun album and one of my fave tracks is Little Eyes,

I remember seeing Jackie-O Motherfucker down at the Hope pub in Queens Road , around the time they released Fig.5 and from that album Your Cells Are In Motion

At the Old Market, a venue just across the border in Hove, i saw Faust live and of course Electrelane twice there, so one track by each is suffice, Electrelane and Only One Thing Is Needed.

Faust, one of the greatest Krautrock bands from the 70's  are still going strong, but when i saw them live they had been paired down to two or three members. Live, they are unpredictable and exciting, and often will bring out the metal  to add to the noise, such as a pneumatic  drill on stage which they did at the time i saw them live plus saws and fireworks, well you get the picture. A Faust live clip -

Yeah, extraordinary and intense band. So finally a bit of cool jazzier stuff to end with.
At the Phoenix Art Centre i saw jazz bassist Eberhard Weber and a track called Delirium from the LP Pendulum.

Looks like i will have to do a third part to feature ones i have missed out such as Devendre and Miss Newsom etc.

Enjoy part two anyway.

Are these bands mostly local to the area, or is Brighton a popular place for bands to go to?

I got into these bands from the pages of The Wire magazine which had occasional Cd mounted covers called The Wire Tapper.
