Summer Solstice

The longest day today. The summer solstice and that means just one thing. The nights will be drawing in again. The dance of the sun and the moon is entering their next phase, juxtaposed as opposites  in the eternal  battle for supremacy.

The lunar tics will gain the upper hand.

It is the solstice, isn't it? Hm. I think I will celebrate by going to bed early, lol.

Though god knows I love the longer days. Winter hurts with how quickly the dark falls over the world.

In pre Christian times, the Solstice myth was that the Green Man had two faces - that of the Holly King (22nd June - 21st December) and the Ivy King (22nd December - 21st June), who exchange crowns each Solstice.

Lunar tics are aplenty throughout the year ;-)

Yes, I believe it is one of many origins. Holly and ivy have been symbolically used in folk lore since time began. Interesting article - may research a little more. Thank you :-)

Being a Druid I did have a wonderful Solstice though I did not go to Stonehenge this year and for that I am glad, seeing the mess that was left there. :(

Actually if there is one religion i would go for it would be a pagan one. More earth bound than anything to do with so called all mighty.
