I do not usually post songs from shows or musicals as they are not my bag , or genre normally, but i think this one is appropriate in relation to last night's World Cup Final, it is Julie Covington and Don't Cry For Me Argentina.

The Germans were by far the better team, although it took them a long time to beat them 1-0. A good team effort all round. Just feel sorry (don't smirk please) for cousin who had Argentina in the works sweepstakes, as he cursed last night not seeing the £32 going his way if the Argies had won.

I knew Germany were good from watching then a few years back with #1 SIL. Shhh...don't tell anyone that I said the emperor has no clothes! Yes, Argentina is good and so is Brazil...and Spain, and England and the Socceroos, but I predicted that Germany would win this one :)

I had to laugh when I saw that the player from Argentina was being all pissy about getting the best player award because he wanted to win.
First of all too bad.
Secondly, how does the best player come from the losing team? UGH.....

I didn't get to watch yesterday's game yet, hopefully it's sitting on our DVR when I get home Friday. I did see the Germany/USA game, and I thought Germany had an amazingly well-oiled machine, their triangle formation was great for controlling and moving the ball down the field. But I make no claim to be any sort of expert on true football.
