That Terje Rypdal CD was a revelation and only a quid from Barnados in Deal. Brother is as sick as a parrot because now he has listened to it he had to download a copy from iTunes for £8.99. LOL! !

I have known of Terje before, but more in the jazz and rock vein , but not classical, and in this genre he is already up to Opus 48. It was way back in 1992 that Wire magazine got me into the jazz world of this Norwegian musician.

Another discovery is the folk song collection by Andreas Scholl ,"Wayfaring Strangers". Now i do realize some people are not keen on a trained countertenor voice doing folk songs and that folk songs are rough hewn from the working people of the lands. In many ways it is an acquired taste (like marmite) and yet i am fascinated by this album, which has yet another version of She Moves Through The Fair.

An album to savour.

Actually it can cost more looking for stuff unless you happen to be visiting a town and doing a covert job. It was pure luck and having the knowledge of record labels and how collectible they are. For example finding a Dan Fogelberg 4 CD set for a quid in Burgess Hill was pure luck which i sold on Discogs for £28. It was also knowing that the artist rarely figures in charity shop finds if at all.
