So in Alfriston we saw a table with books outside a house with a bunch of people taking books from the table. We turn around to find a space as near as possible , GC parked the car, and we had a look. Ended up with these -

We then took the car up the road to Seaford Head to take in the wonderful view of Cuckmere Haven  and the Seven Sisters. The Haven is where the river meanders down to the coast.

I was thinking it amazes me that you can visit so many places in one day, but then I remembered what it was like in the 70's when my dad was in the Army and we lived in Germany.

Where exactly do you keep all of these books you find, and do you read them all?...

Now that is a very good question. I have groaning book shelves but some of these such as the railway one will probably go to my brother or on my next Ebay auction. About half i keep then every few months have a cull. I do read alot quickly, a very good speed reader with the retention as well. I have already read 70 plus books this year already.

I used to do that walk with my grandparents on my dad's side, it's very beautiful there.

Wow, that countryside is beautiful. You can see so far when the hills are low and rolling.

What a lovely day! Would those be the famous White Cliffs of Dover?

Gabriel's Angel looks interesting, as does the railroad book -- gets decent reviews on Goodreads. May have to check it out.

The Sisters are in Sussex. The White Cliffs are in Kent, so different areas but still the same type of chalk cliffs.

Thanks. I used a Lumix camera with some wonderful features and a Carl Zeisss lens.

A Lumix, eh? I have a Lumix with a Leika lens - although that has been superseded now. I took that rose photo with it quite a few years ago, now.

Oh, that photo of the coast is awesome!

And also the one of the sheep. Are they Suffolks? (I only ask that because of their colouring.)

Given the black legs and faces I believe the sheep in Dave's photo are either Llanwenog or Oxford Down breed both of which graze the Cuckmere valley.

WOW! That first one is a spectacular view! Are those chalk cliffs?

The second looks like my mental picture of Ireland/Scotland/English countryside!! Someday I may get to see some of those!!
