Part of my problem with the internet has been solved by the fact that our lovely neighbours next door has allowed me to piggyback onto their WiFi. This means that i am able to blog on this site. However i now have problems with my WiFi dongle as I think there is a broken connection on the circuit board so at least I can use the tablet if not the laptop.

Tablets are good for short messaging, but they frustrate me for long posting. There's something about hearing the keys click that is comforting and decisive. BUT - if I had nothing else, I'd be grateful to use a tablet, too!

I have physically worn out a laptop to the point that the USB ports didn't work. And half the memory was inaccessible. At least the display, keyboard, and hard drive were good.

So it might not be just your dongle, wouldn't hurt to test it on someone else's laptop if you can.

Well i have tried two memory sticks in all four ports and they work fine.
