Musical clips now. Bollywood funk is a style of out there music  that i have collected over the years and rarely play them in a DJ set, i think four times in the last two year,  ( as they are just too wierd) but mostly at home. So for your delictation and education, here is a track by Kalyanji &  Anandji  called Pyar Zingadi Hai.

Next up is Asha Bhosle and a tarck called Dum Maro Dum

Next is R.D Burman and Dance Music 1

Outcaste Records did a great CD compilation called Bollwood Funk that is worth checking out.

Must not forget Ananda Shankar and a track called Dancing Drums.

The excellent Trunk record label has also come out with a Bollywood Funk compo that i am interetsed in getting.

That is all for now.

Oh gods, I haven't heard these retro numbers in a while. These are from the 60s/70s if I'm not very much mistaken. I grew up in the nineties so these were the sings my mum and grandmum sometimes held up as pinnacle of good music. I'll leave a couple of more recent numbers for you to check out if/when you have time. We've come a long way since then and made major contributions on a global scale to the music industry.

Such as mixed songs to stay relevant to people who don't necessarily speak/understand hindi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GsHoD6wTWw (note, you might also want to check out this composer, Shankar Mahadevan. He is both incredibly talented and incredibly happening at the moment)

Pure dance mixes like these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJZsYAiSB-4 (esepcially made to relte to the overseas audience)

A true blue Indian touch in terms of dance if you're more of the traditional enthusiast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buteQeqt8YQ

And less traditional: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WtRNGubWGA

(I should mention I'm only linking fast, dancable songs given your hobby/profession. If you ever want more slow/soulful bollywood jams, let em know)
