A Pilgrimage to the Cathedral City

So today i am off to Canterbury to do a triple hit on a charity shop and i cannot say which one and whom the target is, but the said company the branch is related to is very worried that the target is up to no good. A rogue volunteer dipping hands into the till.  So basically, same shop three times today and twice tomorrow.

Ah,sneezing again so i shall have to nip this in the bud with a dose of medicine when i arrive in Canterbury. Depends what type of medicine. I can see some wry smiles in the background intimating that it will be the pub or a number of them. Alas, dear readers you know me so well.

On a final note, has anyone else noticed you cannot always chose the  icon you want when you comment on somebody else's post. This has occured to me a few times when i wanted to use my "beckett thoughts" icon and yet my default icon comes up. It is very frustrating.

Yes, I had the same icon trouble yesterday, I assumed it was just user error but I'll be keeping an eye out for that now. (This comment should have an Alan Bennett icon.)

It is an Alan Bennett one. To get the icon you want you have to edit your comment and then it will work. Annoying nonetheless.

apparently LJ knows about the userpic glitch. Hopefully they'll fix it soon; it's frustrating as you say. :(

Canterbury sure has an international reputation for its cathedrals and I hope you enjoy your visit there. Charity shopping is always fun. I hope the volunteer comes out squeaky clean.

And a number of lj friends have mentioned the icon glitch. I guess lj will get it sorted out soon.

Your job sounds so interesting! I always enjoy reading about the places you visit and seeing the pictures. Let us know what happens with your investigation of the shady shop! You're like a secret agent or something. ;)

Another work-around to the missing icon problem is to click "more options" when you are writing your comment, and select the icon from there. That seems to make it "stick".

tardisjournal has already listed off the best solution to the icon problem. It has been happening for a few days, but ElJay is working to get it fixed. Hopefully it won't be an annoyance for much longer!

Yes, even here in the States, a mention of Canterbury puts one in mind of cathedrals! Isn't there a song about all the various tolling bells??

The icon problem has been going on for some time. I wrote to LJ to ask if they were planning to compensate paid accounts for all the problems lately, and the answer I got in return? A big fat NO.
Thanks for absolutely NOTHING LJ.
LJ was so much better when it was a simple little web site. Now that they are adding a butt load of extras it's been one big problem. ARGH......
