I watched the two quizzes , University Challenge and Only Connect and then watched New Tricks.  I got all the pop questions correct on University Challenge and surprised myself with the connection of Love (War) leading to the Ministry of Truth as they are ministries in George Orwell's 1984, and getting both walls on the middle section on Only Correct absolutely correct, except for the aircraft carriers.

On a different note, I may have to move some visits forward to the end of next week or cancel them, although usually the companies I work for are, in general, accommodating.

Interesting series starting next week on the BBC about the Gothic novel. Must remember to record it.

Over the weekend staying with GC, she asked me what was the difference  between bear and bare. I replied that the latter is to do with something exposed, like being naked, and that the former for anything else including the mammal. I said that they were homophones. She has not heard of this linguistic term,  and made a joke about it.  As you may or may not know,  homophones are words that sound alike but with different meanings and spellings. There is also a website dedicated to them.

That is all for now. DVD watching time.
