Well folks,i got up early today to catch the 7.24 am bus to Maidstone and then over to Medway via the 101 bus. This was to make sure i got to this evil mandatory job slavery shit on time. As it turned out , on a gloriously warm sunny day, it was due to done outside. All the other geezers who turned up looked the part, and i was overdressed. They were all labourers, builders and ex-roofers.
So i kicked up fuss with the "placement officer", and on the hoof, making up some excuse that i cannot work outside, she promptly told me to go home, paid me for my fares, and thus told me to wait for a new letter to come in the week, for a placement in my local area of Sittingbourne. Result!
Oh and the job , is repairing bikes, so i could get a trade out of this which i can make some money out of, esp. as Colin, a few doors away, who did the London to Brighton bike ride, and has a mega bike now, might need some expertise, if i do good out of it.
So i had the rest of the day available to do what i would like, so i promptly phoned Market Force to move my Rochester 'Spoons visit from Thursday to today. I also perused the charity shops in Chatham and Rochester.
I had a lovely juicy sirloin steak done medium rare with peas and chips washed down with an ale , Cotleigh Uncle Sam (4.2 % ABV), and a coffee to finish with.
I took some pictures of my visit to Chatham, which i shall put up later. But the real bonus is that i can visit Sussex tomorrow and do my gig tomorrow night! at the Northern Lights! Jazzy D is back in action again!
I ended up in Sittingbourne, and had a pint and a half of the exquisite and complex Wicked Weed Freak of Nature beer (7.5 % ABV) from the USA at £2.25 a pint, and yet i paid a £1.90 for a half in the Faversham 'Spoons! I know, it is weird!
So in the end, i am a happy bunny, plus i received my React money two days earlier than expected. WOOT WOOT!

Date: 2014-10-28 08:34 pm (UTC)Sounds like things are looking up again.
By "bikes" do you mean bicycles? I have ridden bikes(bicycles) all of my life and fixing them isn't too hard for the most part. It's just that most people now days don't have the time to do it themselves. It's a lot of steady work in the city. If you get advanced enough, you might learn some welding as well! Aluminum welding is in high demand...
