The Avengers Theme

I do love 60's theme tunes and one of my faves in partcular is The Avengers Theme   by Laurie Anderson and hence here is my post midnight music.

I would love to see that show again from the beginning right through to the Purdy days.

So LJ folks, whom is your favourite Avenger lady? Mine has to be Emma Peel.

I've only seen Emma and Tara, and I totally prefer Emma. The chemistry between John and Emma was just about perfect.

But Tara King is a close second. I've recently been going through The Avengers via Netflix. It's funny, I remembered Tara King as rather damsel-in-distress, but in the episodes I've been (re)watching, she's competent and tough, and even rescues Steed a couple of times.

We were listening to Radio 4's The News Quiz, and they were talking about the Scouts. I think it was Jeremy Hardy said "I was always pure in thought, word, and deed -- except when I was watching The Avengers."

Though I always thought Mrs. Peel was awesome, Joanna Lumly was always amazingly cute.

I was at San Diego ComicCon some 15+ years ago, and Steed was there doing a panel. The man did not look well, more like he was getting ready for a ferry ride with Charon, but he's still kicking at 92, though it looks like he stopped working a decade ago.
