On the other hand, the fact that politicians and their pet reporters can get drunk much more cheaply than voters does explain a lot of legislation and news stories.

Not only are you buying their gas and groceries and paying their rent, their prices for everything are reduced like this when they go out - restaurants, pubs, CASINOS even. It's disgusting. Especially since one year's salary for them is the equivelant (most times) of seven to ten years worth for me. *Frowns*
