UGH...I hate politics. And I hate that something so terrible is used to fight over political power. Rape victims are victimized twice over in our modern society. *Makes a face*
I hate to say that I actually look at the initials 'IDS' and automatically think 'Iain Duncan Smith'. And the worse the story is, the more likely it is to be him. And he is currently the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, a position in which he can do an awful lot of harm. And has.
I've seen an endless stream of comments about IDS on Facebook and I have never, in my life, seen as much utter hatred and ill will directed towards one "man" in my life. If it was unjustly given, I might understand it but unfortunately he deserves everything he gets. Loathsome vindictive little man.
Well, that's depressing as hell. I like to imagine that British politicians are more civilized and enlightened than some of the backwards yahoos we get elected to office here in America. Clearly, that is not the case. We have a lot more in common than I thought!
That being said, I don't think that a "bedroom tax" would ever get off the ground over here. People would be outraged at the idea of the government telling them what to to with the rooms inside their house.
How do they even know what I am using my extra bedrooms for? That's... kind of disturbing.

IDS was leader of the Conservatives for a while when in Opposition. He was hopeless at that job too.
