A couple of shops done today.

Pret coffee shop and a Wetherspoons in Brighton.  As it was Curry Night i had a Lamb Rogan Josh washed down with a pint of Bath Ales Barnsey ale and a gin and tonic. Lovely jubbly!

I also had a coffee at Coffee Republic in Hove. As i alighted from the bus coming from Brighton ,a familiar face accosted me, metaphorically speaking. It was Lorna. She was either going home, or as she had some pressie under her arms going to a friends perhaps. She said she will give me a call for a possible meet on Sunday.

Had a chat with a couple of friendly Irish lasses in the Evening Star pub. They wished me a happy New Year and had a peck on the cheeks from both of them.

Had one of these Wild Beer Company The Madness IPA (6.8 % ABV) at the Star, followed by Dark Star Revelation beer (5.7 % ABV) . I had a good bit of time to spare before my evening meal so this is where i ended up at.

If you're ever in Bath, you need to try Gem from a good place there, like the Salamander (very good food, too - head upstairs for peacefulness) or the Bell (who have a very good line in live music indeed). I still enjoy Gem in bottles, but it's squarely in that league of beers that's substantially different on cask and bottled, despite being originally the same brew. And if you get the chance to try their seasonal Rare Hare or Festivity, leap at it!

I do like the Wild Beer Company. They're pretty strongly reliably interesting. Just wish I could find their work a bit more easily around here.. last couple times, it's also been down at the Evening Star. ^_^ (And again, if in Bath, call in at Independent Spirit, a small shop by the gardens, with a superbly chosen selection, often including a few from WBC)
