A morning stint at the Office and now free to do what i want. At least i have had a good weekend of sales from Discogs. Mula from one of my research companies is in, and i topped just over a hundred  from them, which was a bit surprising, as i calculated mucho less. I am not complaining (giggles!).

Currently in a 'Spoons pub. Just devoured their Supafood pasta dish, a lovely light veggie pasta dish. The free drink with it was a pint of Burning Sky Aurora ale. Lovely yummy beer.

The brewey is based at Firle in East Sussex, east of Lewes.

I had a pint of this at my last visit to the Evening Star pub.

You never answered my question :( Can you explain the relationship between breweries and pubs?

Sorry that was amiss of me. He brewery is the compamy that brews the beer and distributes it to pubs and its tied houses. Fr example , Harveys of Lewes is a brewery company. It has tied houses, pubs that only sell Harveys beers and managed by a manager or loandlord. Then it sells its beers to the spot market to free houses or micropubs. A free house is not tied to selling one companies beers , but can select what they want from any brewery company. Free houses can be independent or part of a chain such as Wetherspoons. Hopes that has made it clear.

Yes, thank you! I have seen that expression "free house" before but didn't know what it meant.

In the States, as you probably know, we have very few tied houses. The only place where the brewer and the pub are the same ownership is if they make it themselves, generally on premises.

Chains, however, we have more than enough.

We have a few pubs that brew their own as well.

There is a nice one two towns over, in the place where we generally go out with friends (our own town doesn't have as much in the way of good food)

Were you ever to visit (I think this is one of those survey questions) this is where I'd take you; we really like it.

Part of the deal with a pasta, steak meal or burger.
