Another fine day going around \medway. Did the council job and the charity shop in Rochester. Had a few beers at the Wetherspoons pub in Rochester, and fish and chips.

In the chazzer i found these books -

I just love finding Open University books as having done courses with them.

The best find though is this CD -

Finding quality jazz albums in chazzers are a real bonus for me.

From the Baggins Bazaar bookshop i found this intriguing book.

Today was the first day of the Spoons beer festival, and this i sampled a pint of each of these quaffable ales -

From South Africa, Shongweni Durban Pale Ale (5.7 % ABV)
From Brazil, Bodebrown Wee Heavy (6.) % ABV)

Plus next weekend is the Brighton Beer Festival and i will be there!

I keep meaning to read Wide Sargasso Sea, because I enjoyed the movie years ago when I caught it on cable.

You should. It was one of the books i had to study on my Arts Open University Course.

Wasn't Wide Sargasso Sea a movie a few years ago?

I love the cover of that psychology book. Very cool. :)

Last one sounds interesting. :)

The Secret of the Forest book looks really good!

Now I'm confused. I thought a chazzer was a person who tried to sell passers by on the street various things like money for environmental groups or charities. Do you call op shops chazzers, too?

Well, chazzer is used for those people who rerpesent charities acosting you in the street, also known as chuggers, but the word is a slang term for a charity shop which i first discovered on the vinyl geek website www.veygoodplus.co.uk. BTW, it is an awesome website for obscure groovy music.

Ooh, they have a new festival running? I'll have to take a peek. Probably not tonight, though, given Saturdays tend to be very busy in one of the two, and extremely loud in the other. Maybe Monday, if that's when some (hopefully good) news I'm anticipating comes through.

Ah, if only they'd carry Lagunitas' "Brown Shugga" for one of their festivals.. but it's rather weighty, at a little over 10%. Absolutely gorgeous, though - one of my favorite barleywines, though unfortunately, only seasonal, for Winter.
