Yesterday was a much warmer day than of late and one in which it was a joy to travel down to Brighton for the day. I had breakfast at Spoons in Sittingbourne, and then a beer at the Muggelton Inn n Maidstone.

I took some pics walkimg towards the Evening Star pub, including one of my fave second hand record stores, and another art covered junction box.

Had a couple of beers at the Evening Star pub and when I finished my visit in Hove I had another beer at the Wetherspoons pub in George Street, Hove. I also popped in to Fine Records to see Julian.

I managed to use the same ticket all day long, which was a bit of a result. So when I arrived in Tunbridge Wells I had a pint at the Bedford pub.

It will ber very busy in brighton today as it is the annual Gay Pride Day.

Love the photos! Is the Muggleton a proper inn with rooms to let upstairs? And is the Pond a gay pub or just celebrating the day?

The Muggleton is no longer an inn but is part of the Wetherspoons chain of pubs. The Pond is not a gay pub, although thee are some gay pubs in Brighton, mostly Kemp Town end. They are just celebrating the day , as most of the pubs bars and venues will be doing so this weekend in the city.

The Muggleton Inn looks like it use to be a big old bank. :)

What does that mean on those buildings that it says "Free House"?

LOVE that junction box. Funny...

I think it might have been a bank as the company has converted banks to pubs before. A "free house" is a pub that is not tied to a brewer. For example, the Dover Castle Inn in my village is tied ti Shepherd Neame and hence can only sell their beers. A free house pub can sell any beer from any brewer across the land. That is it in a simple nutshell.

Lovely photos. I love the one of the man on the steps. And I see Muggles walking in and out of that inn!

Tunbridge Wells...isn't that where Jo Brand was?

True. Jo Brand does live in Tunbridge wells. I am expecting Harry Potter to walk into the Muggleton Inn any day.

Thought so! Funny to see film footage of the place you hand photographed. And it looked exactly the same!

Hehe, Harry Potter might at that :)
