The Sensations were a doo wop group from Philadelphia , the group started in 1954 but disbanded by 1958. Yvonne Mills , their lead singer, got married and started a family. They reformed again in 1961 and had a contract with Chess subsidiary label Argo with Yvonne Mills Baker back as lead singer. She then started a solo career with Cameo Parkway records, recording a number of tracks that achieved cult status among Northern Soul fans, most notably "You Didn’t Say a Word" on Parkway Records in 1966.

Here are some other tunes by her and her group.

Yvonne Baker and The Sensations - That's My Desire

Yvonne Baker - My baby Needs Me

Yvonne Baker and The Sensations - Eyes

Enjoy.

I adore Frankie Laine's version of "That's My Desire". You can almost picture the smoky little (French?) cafe he sings about.

I don't think I have heard of The Sensations before.
Very nice.
