Date: 2016-10-13 11:02 pm (UTC)Kleenex, reading light, glasses case, whatever book I'm reading, moisturizer. Generally postcards and things I use as bookmarks.
I have the stereotypical lady purse: wallet, cell, keys, change purse, pads, lip gloss, charger, iPod, portable battery, pen, bottle opener. I can probably survive the apocalypse based on the contents of my purse.

Date: 2016-10-14 01:13 am (UTC)Books and a bedside lamp for those times I wake up and just can't get back to sleep.
Is it weird to say my watch? I feel naked without one. :p
Hugs, Jon

Date: 2016-10-14 02:46 am (UTC)Next to my bed I have a bedlamp,CPAP machine, my mobile phone and a now-ancient clock radio (which I have set to the local Greek radio station, because I really hate understanding what people are saying when I'm trying to wake up). My e-book reader is usually there as well.
You really don't want the list of what's in my bag!

Date: 2016-10-14 11:27 am (UTC)Books, ink pens, note pad/pencil, spare reading glasses, hand/foot lotion, coasters for drinks, kleenex.
What I take w. me is my purse which has evolved into a survival kit. Phone, nail clippers, nail file, pens, 1-2 books, small notebook, mints, lip balm, pill box w. ass't meds, mirror, spare reading glasses, tooth ache medicine, tissues.
I also keep an emergency bag packed w. undies/socks/extra toothbrush/comb/pj bottoms or leggings, small hand towel. Lately I put it in the trunk of the car for certain Dr visits as well. Keeps hubby from having to find pack necessities other than phone charger and a small fleece throw and a robe.

Date: 2016-10-14 11:46 am (UTC)I have water in a bottle (spilt a glass too many times!), a bedlight for reading books, book/s, a torch, a clock, glasses.
Depends on where I'm going. If to town, then wallet with driver's licence etc in, tissues (if I don't forget), a notebook (you'd be surprised how handy that is!), my mobile phone, glasses. If going away, toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, that sort of thing and of course clothes and nightie etc.

Date: 2016-10-14 10:26 pm (UTC)By the bedside: mainly some water on the dresser top, by the bed head, and to the side, Hazel and the iPad. As soon as I'm awake, or if I just wake up randomly for a spell, I can just hoist either or both up, and have a little nose around SLU, or a comic I'm catching up with, or maybe just a game of Scrabble. And the headphones, if I feel like watching some clip someone's posted, and the roomie's asleep.
Taking out and about? Depends, but the bag's always got a variety of Useful Stuff like a tiny, bright torch for finding my way along unlit footpaths, a Lightning-micro USB cable for previewing photos from the camera on the iPad rather than just its internal display, and some emergency earbuds if I've forgotten the headphones and the bus/train is graced by noisy souls, young or old. If I'm going anywhere potentially interesting, I'll likely have the D7100 with me, and some combination of lenses as appropriate. If I'm going to take photos of my dinner, they're going to be good photos, dammit. =:) (And the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 does so well at it, too, whether wide open for shallow DoF or just accommodating subdued lighting, or stopped down a bit for a deeper shot) With the iPad in the back pocket of the bag, I'm pretty well set for a day's adventuring. ^_^
