First of all my overnight observation at Gatwick Tesco went well without falling asleep once, Brought 2 good sturdy books to read and plenty of caffeine to boot. However Tuesday felt really wired and last night slept like a log , if logs sleep that is.I did some work on Tuesday but very little. Bumped into Georgina, a market research colleague and i had more coffee as well. Discussed my interests in all thing fluxus and sound poetry stuff - she's never heard of any of them exceot for Yoko Ono.

A CDR came through the door yesterday from Volcanic Tongues, and one from Second layer records.

The first is by Davenport "The Hand of Worm Heaven" on Tiee-Lag Records in a limited edition of 223 - mine is no. 142. Comes with lovely cardboard covers and CD sized postcards detailing the tracks and line drawings and other artwork by Dylan Nyoukis. Firmly in the wierd alt-folk stuff, such as Pelt,Six Organs of Admittance and others travel on, this is a psyched-up heavenly thrash that over its 8 tracks lasting 77 mins blisses you out and leaves you gaga!

The other CDR is another Christine Carter affair which is simply gorgious.

Finally got round to buying some Anthony and The Johnsons - their first Cd on Secretly Canadian Records and its nice to see them win the Mercury Music Prize - infact i was very surprised as they were the extreme outsiders. The judges do have good taste after all!

No comics bought yesterday though.

Watched both parts of the Zimmie biog by Martin Scorcese " NO Direction Home" on BBC2. Long viweing but fascinating as well. The DVD will be out in October so i will be buying that one.The CD soundtrack is already available so check out Resident for a copy. Bob Dylan is still god to me.
