Whilst it has been unusually warm , i fear that January and February will hit us with a real bang of cold weather, and as you know, i am an icy-weather hater!

I have the same fear. We've had record-breaking warm weather in southeastern Michigan (blamed on El Niño), but I remember other winters that started late and then made up for lost time.

Bring back the longer days. :)
El Nino is suppose to keep us mild this Winter. I hope that includes Jan and Feb, because they can be miserable here. :o

I hate ice too! We are also very warm now and some of the plants are getting mixed up. I had a clump of crocuses up an inch and a half.
