Ian Breakwell
Oct. 25th, 2005 10:49 pmQuite sad to hear the passing away of Ian Breakwell from the Guardian obituary (21 Oct.) and i believe that the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill still has an exhibition of his going on with other artits called Variety so its worth a trip over there if only for the beautiful art deco architecture of the Pavillion recently restored.
Now perhaps its serendipity but on my visit to Eastbourne today for a survey i picked up an Ian breakwell paperback on Serpent's Tail from a bookshop on the way to The Meads for a small £3 "The Artist's Dream" published in 1988.
Whilst in Eastbourne found a great CD by John McLaughlin "Extrapolation" on Polydor reissued in 1991 from its original early seventies Lp release with Tony Oxley on drums,John Surman on saxes and Brian Odges on bass. Price £1 in a charity shop. Had to wade through lots of dross to find it but once found it was mine all mine. Ha Ha ha.
Now cool down Dave its only a record.
