More quality grooves here -
Robert Wyatt with Happy End - Turn Things Upside Down
Cocteau Twins - Persephone
Dirty Three - Sue's Last Ride
Lisa Gerrard - Violina (the Last Embrace)
Anne Dudley - Tallis' Canon
O may my soul on thee repose
and may sweet sleep my eyelids close
sleep that may me more vigorous make
When in the night I sleepless lie
my soul with heavenly thoughts supply
Teach me to die that so I may
Words by Thomas Ken (1637-1711)
Based on a melody by Thomas Tallis (c1505-1585)
Anne Jennifer Beckingham (born 7 May 1956, Chatham, Kent, better known as Anne Dudley (married to Roger Dudley), is an English composer and pop musician. Dudley was the first BBC Concert Orchestra's Composer in Association in 2001. She has worked in both the classical and pop genres. She is perhaps best known, however, as one of the core members of the synthpop band Art of Noise and also as a film composer. In 1998, she won an Academy Award for Best Original Musical or Comedy Score for The Full Monty. In addition to over twenty other film scores, in 2012 she also served as music producer for the film version of Les Misérables, also acting as arranger and composing some new additional music.
