Hamilton Yarns and Frederic Rzewski
Oct. 28th, 2005 09:07 amA copy of "if The Wind is Still" by Hamilton Yarns dropped through my letterbox today. I have a copy already but mine is on grey paper and this one is a distinct purpleish mauve colour but nice to have as well and packaged differently to the other so worth keeping despite dobling up. It was hand delivered - no postmark - and i don't know who from as yet.A freebie!!!
Yesterday in Londion doing a survey i detoured via Notting Hill and purchased a Frederic Rzewski Box set "Rzweski Plays Rzewski" (Nonesuch 2002) 7 CD's for only £18 - altough it only cost me £7 due to an exchange i made. It's him playing piano going through stuff he composed between 1975 and 1999. A lovely set which got reviewed by Andy Hamilton in The Wire December 2002. His avant-garde credentials are sound across these 7 CD's since his days with MEV. T Ialking of MEV i highly recommend their "Spacecraft / Unified Patchwork Theory" CD on Alga Marghen. Infact i recommend the label itself if you want the unusual, weird or plainly wacky.item #956.
