jazzy_daveJust watched the move, one of those from my mystery shop visit today, called Gone In The Night. It caught my eye because it starred Shannen Doherty (Charmed) in it. made in 1996 beofre she starred as Prue. and is a TV made movie that is 190 minutes long - probably a bit long in my estimation. It is based on a true story of the Dowaliby family. Kevin Dillon )Platoon) plays the husband. The gist of it is the kidnap of a young girl from the home whilst the paernts were sleeping.
On September 10, 1988, 7 year-old Jaclyn Dowaliby was kidnapped from her home in the middle of the night. Two years later in 1990, Cynthia and Jaclyn's stepfather David Dowaliby went on trial for the murder of their daughter. However, Cynthia was acquitted by the judge on grounds of insufficient evidence, but David was tried and convicted of his daughter's death. His conviction came partly because the jury was shown photographs of a closet door, with fist holes in it. It was later proven that this damage happened before David even moved into the house.
In 1991 David's conviction was overturned when the Illinois Appellate Court reversed conviction outright, holding that the evidence against him had been no more probative than that against his wife. The murder of Jaclyn remains unsolved.
It was a good film. Shannen is a very good actress.

Also this week i watched Mr,Turner starring Timothy Spall, and is an exploration of the last quarter century of the great, if eccentric, British painter J.M.W. Turner's life. , This is a great film IMHO> I believe Mike , my brother, gave e this in one of his clear-outs.
