Deal Walmer and Dover Visits

Today i did three visits in Deal and then Dover, being a phone shop, a shoe repair shop and a factory shop. On the way from Deal toward Dover i stopped in the hamlet of Walmer just south of Deal.It was quite sunny so i took a few snaps.

I also found a another micro pub called The Freed Man. Had a half of Hopdaemon Dominator (5.1 % ABV).

Crikey! Looks like they're not joking about the "micropub" monicker. ^_^ Reminds me a bit of one of the tinier pubs in Bath, down one of the many alluring alleyways. (It wasn't one of my regular haunts - not their fault, but I found the Salamander and the Raven suited me better, as well as both not being impermeable to cellular connectivity =:)

Julius Caesar landed in Walmer, back in the day. The furthest my little spot goes back is not quite 200 years, when an early settler mounted a cannon outside to warn off marauding Indians. The cannon was buried when he abandoned the ranch, and my neighbor just told me that metal detector hobbyists are always asking for access to his property.
