The new companion seems fine, but I really don't care much for this Doctor. He's lacking that what-me-worry fun side that many of the previous doctors have had. Instead he is always standing there like a grumpy bus driver telling everyone to sit down and not touch anything. I don't know who picked him, but I think it was a mistake. I'm hoping for a new doctor soon.
I much prefer that the Doctor is back to his anti-hero stance, but he still has his lighter side as has been proved in several episodes in the past two seasons. It is worth bearing in mind the last two seasons have had a much much darker and serious tone then previous seasons.
I found Ten got overtly arrogant after a while and began to remind me of Arnold J Rimmer from Red Dwarf and the whole Timelord-victorious aspect was brushed under the carpet too quickly. Wouldn't it have made a better ending for Ten for his regeneration to be as a direct result of his hubris and dangerous behaviour as the Timelord victorious? Also it would have a much more interesting slant on his relationship with the Master.
Ten reminded me of the Master when he went all Timelord-victorious. It started as early as when he ruined Harriet Jones political carer. He did it out of spite regardless of the consequences.
Ten acted like he had a narcissistic personality disorder and he suffered for it. I never believed Rose made him better. If anything her influence over Nines regeneration made this incarnation of the Doctor more unstable. That's way I liked Donna because she didn't take his crap.

I hope that Bill, whose name I assume is a nickname and/or possible nod to Harnell and Bill Russell, does give a different angle on the Doctor, in much the same way Steven and Vicki had on the first. However, I am lukewarm about the trailer.

Maybe Bill will encourage him to loosen up. I'm hoping anyway.:)
The next guy will probably be the last.

I could take or leave the storylines in the Eleventh era.
