The idea of having a comic strip based on rock or music in general was an idea thta appealed to me quite alot and so i was happy to find a book in the non-comic part of David's Books a collection called "Baboon Dooley Rock Critic! Baboon Gets Ahead in Life" by John Crawford (Popular Reality Press,P.O.Box 3402,Ann Arbor,M.I.48106,USA) for only £2. 232 pages of utter joy and laughter too. I don' t know if its still available as it was printed in 1988 but it's ISBN is 0-945209-00-2.
Also popped over to Hove to see a friend and whilst in George Street found an LP by Anthony Braxton "Ensemble Victoriaville 1988" on Victo Records for £1 in pristine conditon from the Barnados charity shop. It must have just been put out i guess otherwise it would have gone by now.

So another good day for finding lovely stuff cheaply.

Remember the comic hero Dan Dair - well he had a nemesis called The Mekon and it just so happens that there is a post-punk group called The Mekons and from Snoopers Paradise i bought their CD ep "Fun '90" (on A&M) from 1990 for £1 and a samba Cd which is okay for a £1 and a CD by Boukman Eksperyans on Mango from 1992 alos for £1.

The Boukman Eksperyan CD got reviewed by the Wire in 1992.

Picked up a reissued Can CD "Ege Bamyashi" in their hybrid SACD compatible ramnge - gold coloured Cd's to you. Wow what a sound and how good Damo Suzuki's voice sounds on these remastered gems.

Well over halfway in the avant-garde film book i have been reading.#

Picked up another good book today but more details about that one tomorrow.

Actually disappointed with the samba CD - too MOR for me.
