Cine City Stuff
Dec. 2nd, 2005 09:55 pmTonight at Fringe Basement i saw a set of three films by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard. It is a selection of their recent film-based artworks. The programme included "Walking After Acconci (Redirected Approaches)" which references an early video work by Vito Acconci, followed by "File Under Sacred Music",and their controversial remake of an infamous bootleg video documenting The Cramps playing live for the patients at Napa Sate Mental Institute in 1978.
The last one i saw there was "Mother Dao: The Turtlelike" whcih was a sparse and elegant film from found documentary propaganda in the former Dutch East Indies.
Tomorrow i hope to see Jeff Keen's "Artwar" at the Phoenix in the afternoon and "Junk TV" at 8pm.
Found a copy of "Music of Indonesia Vol. 5" (Smithsonin Folkways 1994 CD) in Crawley's branch of the Mind charity shop.
The Visible Dog "Invisible Pyramid Elegy Box" 6CD set arrived in the post today from the nice people at Fonal.
