Just Another Day And Where Is The Work
May. 21st, 2006 08:34 amWell Saturday did some of my Black Horse mystery shops in Bxhill, eastbourne and Polegate. Didn't feel that well anyway and had a treeible migraine in the afternoon. Still coughing from the cold of last week as well.
So just another day in the life of a trampled-on market researcher.
I hoped GC and friend enjoyed the Osibisa concert well out in Cranleigh at the Cranleigh centre. What a strange place for a gig?
Just a few new sounds bought during the week, Moondog "The Viking on Sixth Avenue" (Honest Jons 2005) from an exchnnge in Noting Hill, the Metalux CD i mentioned previously,Scott Walker "The Drift" (4AD 2006) and Oumouu Sangare "Woroton" (World Circuit 1996) - also part of an exchange in Brighton's Across The tracks. So money spent actually.
At Sandpiper in the £1 back room bought a hardback of installation artist Stefan Gec. The Miro books on Taschen sold quickly (well a £1 is dead cheap) - i managed to secure mine before all went.

Another nice guy whom we don't see so ofetn (not since the part i think) is Bob - lovely Bob - as pictured above. He's a real nice guy. Too few of them really.
Stil on a tight money reign at the moment. MR diary is low at the moment due to the paucity of work - it is quite worrying really. L does not seem to undesratnf this and its only the crime survey which will secure payment of bills etc etc. I hope that job wise things will improve as so far May has been very unusually quiet.
Talking to the EB and Jill and others, they all confirm the fact that it is very quiet. EB points the blame at the increased use of the internet by MR companies for surveys, and unfairly managed to get a dig at GC as she uses the internet surveys alot. EB can never let go - what an Evil catty woman!! Leave GC alone bitch!
Some things are true though. What happens to ICQS controls when you can't verify the respondent details on the internet? It makes the whole thing laughable. Another factor as Jill pointed out is that at the moment ORC are using alot with the telephone interview team and only seem to be doing business to business interviews (B2B) at the meoment.
I didn't mean to make you feel down (if you are an MR person) but sometimes being positive is difficult.
I must find other ways of getting income - even the ebay side of things gone quiet!!
So it is time to try to cheer us up. A limerick.
I had a strange dream last night
Well it was a bit of a fright
I saw the EB in the buff
Scary gosh, she looks so rough -
Don't look , or you'll lose your sight.
Well i though it was funny.
