Mini Disc Mayhem
Jul. 31st, 2006 07:43 amYesrterday ,apart from popping into Snoopers, noticed that Brighton Books was open and Steve was in at the counter. So i had a chat with him and told him about an Old hat CD he might be interested in at Across The Tacaks ,"Folks ,He Sure Do Pull Some Bow",a collection of bkack vintage fidle music from 1927 to 1935.
I also unearthed an old bag of mini discs of mine which hadn't had their labels put on them, and scraps of paper with tracks written on them.So i was trying to match up paper with discs, and it turned out to be a quite difficult job. Some i just simply erased again so they could be used again. Found some gems though. I shall use a couple to transfer my singles on to,including those mentioned in WEIRDSOUNDZ. The rest, esp those old boring house/techno ones i did years back i will erase and possibly matched with original plastic cases put them on the stall for sale.
I stii find Mini Discs useful as i still have a good MD player connected to my hi-fi (never did get a personal MD player). Mini discs are the digital equivalent of cassette tape and are easy to edit and rewrite , much easier than CDR's in some respects. They say the quality of sound isn't as good as CD,but i don't hear much difference. Also i do find it easier to transfer vinyl to an MD than hooking turntable and amplifier to th PC as the PC is no where near the hi-fi stack anyway.
