Chichester Cheapies
Aug. 17th, 2006 07:41 amIn Chichester yesterday , i was doing a hall test with Ollie Bulter and co - all about smoothies like PJs or Innocent. Lovely short taste test survey and i guess no more than ten minutes maximum (didn't time it) and we had finished the quota about 2.30 pm and cleared the tables.
So i popped down the road to peruse the charity shops of Chichester. Found five paperbacks for the stall, all at only 20 pence each and in nice condition.
Arrived in Brighton in time to put the books priced up at £2 each onto the stall and then off to Sandpiper Books to excavate their back room goodies.
It is quite amazing what you can get in that back room for a £1 each.as the varied selection below indicates.
"As I Am , Young Afro American Women in A Critical Age" by Julian C. R. Okwu (Chronicle Books 1999 ISBN 0-8118-2073-4)
"Rain Charm For The Duchy and Other Laureate Poems" Ted Hughes (Faber 1992 iSBN 0-571-16713-6)
"Coca-Cola Dreaming , Vintage Outdoor Advertising for America's favourite Soft Drink" by Tim McClain (Cranehill 1996 ISBN 1-881548-91-0)
"Dizzy & Jimmy, My life with James Dean" Liz Sheridan (Harper Collins 2000 ISBN 0-06-039383-1)
I mentioned the photography book on Coca-Cola to Stephen and he wanted one, which i duly returned and bought a second copy of it, as they only had four copies when i picked up mine.
Emergency call from Margaret yesterday to interview mums with babies, somthing i don't normally do,but as it is for her,and it only needs five or six done before Sunday,i accepted the job. Well,a trip around the council estates should do it.
