Natty Dread In A Croydon
Sep. 14th, 2006 08:26 pmAnother busy day - weather was a bit damp in the morning but it soon dired up. Halfway readings through Hans Richter's bok on "Dada,Art And anti-Art" (Thames and Hudson paperback) and is probably one of the most comprehensive books on the scene as it was written by an artist who was there at the beginning so to speak. This book was from last Sunday's boot fair for a £1.
Again in Croydon area , virtually for most of the month, again on a crime survey but this time for the council than the police.Atleast it is mercifull short, only ten minutes long, whereas the former one was thirty minutes plus.
Also some of the best Jamaican food can be eaten in the area. Natty dread in a Croydon as I and I would say. Now where's that Lee Perry dubplate?
Finally got the Bruno Spoerri CD "Glückskugel" from Borderline, which is something that Stephen acquired on vinyl recently, and the compilation of rare and live stuff from Brighton's own Electrelane.
Also met Kulo whilst in Snoopers this morning, and suggested he hotleg it to Fopp to pick up a copy of Chris Marker's "La Jetée / Sans Soleil" DVD for £7. He didn't believe me that both were on one DVD with extras and well annotated booklet. The large looking mixing desk unit on our stall went,i guess sold (hopefully as it took quite a bit of space up), leaving a huge gap where it was. The Discolator is still there, so next time i visit i will drop the price a bit more again. Strange my Brion Gysin limited vinly LP hasn't sold yet. 680 copies wwre printed, and that is all.
