Noticed in the Guardian Films & Music section today an advert for a gig in London on October 13 and 14 at the London Hippodrome. Nothing unusual about that, but it is made more notable by the fact that our chief stallholder (who dishes out the monies at our meetings),Rowan Forrester-Walker,will no doubt be playing that first night as part of her band LEOPARD LEG. Infact it sounds a good night. Not olnly Leopard leg but improv Jap-noise BURNING STAR CORE, and from California, the doom metal merchants SUNN 0))). Tickets are £14,which is not bad for three darlings of THE WIRE press. (Was that a jibe?)

I haven't seen Leopard Leg live despite having their LP "The Seven Sistered Sea Secret of Shh Shh Shh" which was recorded out in the forests of Seven Sisters in deepest Sussex.

Something to look forward to.

Talking of Heavy stuff come Hallween will be playing a good slice of subterranean sludge doom metal from the likes of Sunn 0))), Earth, Akerchoke, Boris, Khanate, Isis, Jesu and so on,plus classics like Black Sabbath and Atomic Rooster.

Well finally sold the two Chris Marker videos i bought from the boot fair on Sunday now that i have the DVD of said films. I decided to put them on the stall ,and on walking back from Snoopers saw Stephen at the bookshop. mentioned it to him and to my surprise he said he would like to buy them (despite only having a video recorder at his mums),so i scuttled back to Snoopers, retrieved them and sold the two to him for £5, and i was still in profit!

So now three of us should have in our collections "La Jetée / San Soleil" assuming that Kulo got the copy from Fopp which i urged him to buy. Funny actually ,as it was Kulo who pointed out the two videos to me at the station boot fair on Sunday!

Also, there is a nice book in Sandpiper about photographers who become avant-garde film amkers like Chris Marker, whom is featured in the book.Name of book i don't remember though.

[Poll #821987]

Just realised i forgot to add Abruptum,Ulver or Burzum to the lists. Oh well.
My flavours are decidedly of the black metal variety, and then veering towards the more progresive side.

Top sides
1/ Ulver - A Quick Fix of Melancholy EP
2/ Abruptum - Casus Luciferi
3/ Sunn 0))) - white 1
4/ Khanate - Khanate
5/ Earth - Hex
