Oct. 7th, 2006 07:17 pmWell did a job for a new company today and it was a doddle and short too.We need more of these kinds of surveys, so bring them on.Community Consultants based in Huntingdon, and it is a job for the local council about streetscaping and parking. Every one i spoke too had their penny worth of advice or bile to hurl at our council so few refusals if at all.
Picked up a fine double LP by Eugene Chadbourne today for £6.50 from Snoopers "LSDC&W" from 1982. His albums are not easy to find usually and well worth picking up when you see them.
Yesterday some nice CD's bought with the takings from the last few weeks, Steve Reich "Phases,A Nonesuch Retrospective" ,a five CD box set for ony £17 from Borderline, an album of early 70's folk and folk-rock called "Clogs" (Peg Records 1972) which is a fairly rare compilation bought from Fine Records when i got the second issue of a fine Henry Cowell overview from Naxos - the famous budget classical label where no single CD is above $5-ish.From Fopp a cheap £3 CD by Marianne Faithful "A Secret Life" (Island) which got reviewed favourably by WIRE magazine.
Picked up the latest copy of Mojo with a Hendrix influenced freebie CD on the cover.Tracks include stuff by Johnny Winter,Funkadelic,John McLaughlin,Santana,Love and more besides.NIce compilation.
