Picked up some quality vinyl yesterday in Horsham - starting off with singles -
a funky number by The Popcorn Brothers "Popcorn Train" (King a Ling 7"), Faust & Dalek "Nummer 3" (Bomb Mitte 7"), "Soplerfo Sampler" (Crabouillier Records 7" EP) - wierd high-octane electronica with a slight drum n bass feel to it and one side and kiddie-style plonking gamalan tintinabulism on the other side.

Then in LP format - "Tarika Blue "The Very Best Of" (Soul Brother Records 2001) - high octane jazz funk from the early seventies , Johnny Colon "A Portrait of Johnny" (Cotique LP) - more classsic latino salsa and bugaloo , and another copy of "Passarinho Urbano" by Joyce.

Then a couple of CD's - Michel Doneda,Benat Achiary.and Kazue Sawai "Temps Couché" (Victo 1998) and the debut collabaoration "Angels of Light And The Akron Family" (Young God Records 2004).

All charity shopped for around twelve quid!! Bargain!!

Firat off a real missive and f**k-it scenario - missed two concerts from the week previously although both were on the same night (WHAT A F***ing BITCH) - Vitamin B12 at The Open House and a visit by Sir Richard Bishop (Locust improv folkie guitarist) and also a gig for Halloween by the excellent Hamilton Yarns. How come i missed them? Too much TV i think is to blame - opium for the people as The Disposable Heroes of Hipocrasy once said in a song "drug of the nation, feeding radiation". Blah!

Must get out more - anyway last Wednesday was a bloody wet and i was a bit short of folding money.

Also,; pissed off with a small £21 from the last two weeks of trading at Snoopers after the usual rent, with the memory of the highs of £60 sales from last time being wiped out. So come Friday i shall have to review the situation whilst down there in the morning and perhaps a pruning session of dead wood is needed.

I have a few Ltino and salsabased items to go to the stall, and Joyce always sells. Need a visit to my secret supplier again to capitalise on thee Latino goodies.

I was in Warnham, north of Horsham today, on the job for MRUK and met my supervisor Sue Watt there. She is swanking in a brand new Audi TT sports car. The bugger!

A good day - fine weather - nice respondents.

Tomorrow off to Lambeth for Plus 4 on a nice street survey, so a chance to pop into my supplier of latino vinyl nirvana, some 7" singles and a humungus range of 12" singles. All in the basement for no more than a £1.
