Worthing and Saltdean Round Trip
Mar. 22nd, 2007 09:55 pmMy book arrived from one of Amazon's afilliated sites called "Desperately Seeking Paradise,Journeys of A Sceptical Muslim" by Ziauddin Sardar (Granta) for half of its retail value. Started reading it on the way to Worthing. Also almost finished Alan Bennett's "Four Stories".and also reading the Shirley Collins book again in tandem with them.
Bussed over to Saltdean to do a lunchtime mystery shop at The Saltdean Tavern. Whilst in Satldean visited The Martlets Hospice Charity Shop and picked up four LP's at 25p each. "Music From The BBC TV series The Singing Detective" (BBC Records) ,Elmer Bernstein "All Time Movie Greats (Contour), "Big Western Movie Themes" Geof Love and His Orch. (MFP) and The Jason Ryder Sound "Music From Hair" (MFP).
Saw AWN at Brighton Station this morning - haven't seen her for ages - she was doing this train job checking cleanliness of trains and stations - the very same job GC is doing. She asked me if i was going to have another cat but i replied it was too early to tell since Tiggy passed away. She is an obvious cat lover as when she split from her husband she chose the cat over the husband (him not being a cat lover one presumes). Good choice i thought.
When i arrived home from Worthing around 8pm (well i made it a long day going in the morning then to Saltdean then back to Worthing) I noticed somebody had dumped a 14" TV in the street which the dustbin men failed to take and on closer inspection found out why - the CRT tube was broken and not worth repairing.
Thumbed through my copy of "Straight From The Fridge" for some hipster phrases after noticing that the non-jive talking scat bleating on like sheep and should let sleeping dogs lie. Ignore it i thought - i have other bigger things to think about about than warbling non-hep scats.
Anyway Saturday off to finish off this Worthing job ,a nice 5 minute grocery survey, which should be over 3 days (but is so easy to do and in total 60 interviews) that i am squeezing it into two days (£190 plus expenses) and tomorow i will be in Portslade Tesco Metro from 3pm (another £59 plus expenses) so i don't need the bric-a-brac jungle poopers any more. Rant over!
