Yesterday had a full day up in London around south London areas such as Herne Hill,West Norwood and East Dulwich doing this magazine survey (yet again) , 40 contacts (I minute sheets) and one quota of 20 contacts with ten interviews - and no chance to go record hunting. Just busy busy all day. But in terms of fees it came to £130 plus expenses so a good day. It remained dry and quite sunny throughout.
On the coach back read some more of the "Desperately Seeking Paradise" book where the author is in Saudi Arabia trying to seek wisdom. I never learned so much about Sunni's ,Shias and Ismailis than i have from this book. Its illuminating and at times very funny.

And it looks like i will be up there again (London that is) on Saturday doing more of the same via the EB but NW3 this time. I must get some old stuff together for that day to exchange at the Notting Hill or Camden exchange shops.

I do like travelling to London and next Thursday my wife has her midweek day of and i'm not doing anything apart from two "drink only" mystery shops at two pubs in London, and she is coming with me. I better keep her mits off the dosh, but she will have some to spend (whatever i deem to be appropiate) as most will go in a high yield ISA.

DR.WHO on last Saturday was a good start to the new series and the new lass is good and attractive looking - she was briefly seen in the two part Torchwood based battle of the Daleks against the Cybermen from season two of the new series.

Been fiddling away trying to get this Dell laptop to play all the video images for this car survey i am doing for EMS and it is not playing ball and it's very frustrating. Why did i accept this damn job? Much prefer pen and paper for surveys than lug around a heavy Dell laptop. C'est la vie.

Bought the latest Plan B magazine with an article on Messthetics (that DIY culture of punk and post-punk self -produced music that spawned a number of independent and hard to get vinyl singles and albums) where anything went and it didn't matter if you could strum two chords together - the feeling was all that mattered, not how adept you were at playing any instrument.

Decided to start said car survey tomorrow as i am a bit hacked off with the laptop and need to post a job off.It is only six interviews but they can last up to 45 mins per interview, but they do get a fiver for doing it.

So a bit of an off-day realy.

It is Easter weekend coming up and i know i should have time off, but will  be working up in London on the Saturday,as the job (for the EB) is coming by courier on that morning.Still,it will give me a chance to sell off some stuff or at the least do an exchange. This time i might visit Camden and go around the famous market there.

Finally got the latest Hawk and A Hacksaw CD on Leaf  "The Way The Wind Blows" which features  the Romanian folk ensemble Fanfare Ciocarlia ,and will be touring the UK in May ,and hence, visiting Brighton during our May festival. I shall look forward to it. An article about the gypsy band at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/worldmusic/a4wm2006/a4wm_fanfare.shtml

and they have their own website:

http://www.asphalt-tango.de/fanfare/artist.html

Also of interest is the Hawks own website -

So when will Musikcas visit these shores again?
