Thursday evening was spent at The Smugglers,Pevensey doing a live PRS visit. All local bands,or group of performers, in an ad hoc jam session. It was okay but nothing to be thrilled about. What did peeve me off though was the fact that the start time for the venue was wrong on my sheet. It stated quite clearly a 6 pm start but the bands didn't play til 9pm. Luckily i had brought something to read (current issue of WIRE mag) and had a meal there as well. Also as live visits are limited to a four hour maximum visit i left the pub at 10 pm, eevn though i was informed they would be finishing about 11.45 pm.

Wednesday completed a leaflet check survey around Mile Oak end of Portslade. Didn't start the job til afternoon as the morning was quite wet.

From The Amnesty charity shop a CD for £2.00 : The Soft Pink Truth - Do You Party? (Soundslike).

That was the only purchase of the day.

Ordered The Quay Brothers Complete Short Films collection on DVD via the BFI, and is something to look forward to watching. Also look forward to the Jan Swankmajer collection at the end of June, as i use to have some of his animation on VHS tapes at one time.By all accounts the 3 DVD set will be "the most comprehensive DVD edition ever assembled of the short films by the legendary Czech Surrealist filmmaker-animator Jan Svankmajer".

More PRS visits starting on Saturday evening and more next week. Oh what a busy boy i am?

A trip to London today, part work and part pleasure. the work part was a mystery shop at The Golden Lion pub in Fulham High Street - a meal and drink - so that was quite pleasureable really. Also, dropped off a laptop at Leyhausen in Hammersmith from a job i did earlier in the week.

Afterwards it was all pleasure and hence visited my usual haunts. From Intoxica! a double LP compilation of jazz funk tracks from Italian library albums called "Suono Libero" (Irma La Douce 1997) and a book ed. by Dylan Jones called "Easy! The Lexicon of Lounge" Intoxica! also have some Easy Tempo LP's which i shall get next time.

Two CD's from the Notting Hill brigade : another compilation of music from the vaults of Italian sixties and seventies erotic films called "Beat At Cinecittà" (Crippled Dick Hot Wax ) and a compilation of sixties Japanese garage bands "GS I Love You Too" (Big Beat). One DVD as well "Tim Buckley, My Fleeting House".

All done with xchanges - so only had to pay an extra ten pounds.

Then decided it was time to go home. It has also been a gloriously sunny warm day, which made the diggin' even better.

My Quay Brothers DVD set arrived in the post today.
